Develop chemical and medical applications of NMR and MRI: Chemical Exchange Saturation Transfer (CEST) MRI of glucose analogues will obtain images of cancerous tumors (that reflect their morphology and metabolic activity) with distinction between benign, malignant and metastatic tumors without using radioactivity and radiation (used in PET/CT). Development of a new imaging method based on magnetization exchange (MEX), which is sensitive to semi-solid tissue components such as collagen fibrils.
